Musician and historian Owen Shiers launched Gadael Tir / Leave Land with Gwilym Morus-Baird since 2016. Their two-hour delve into the history of land rights and protest in Wales through folk song, poetry and story has been developed with Robin Grey. It is modelled on and complements Three Acres and a Cow which deals with English land rights and protest history and was hosted by Bristol Radical History Group in October 2019.
As a musician, composer and producer, Owen has also toured in the US, Europe, Africa and the Middle-East and has played at festivals such as WOMAD, Glastonbury and Shambala. He has worked alongside artists such as Peter Gabriel, Toumani Diabate, Seckou Keita, Sam Lee, Spiro and Catrin Finch. He is also continuing a project to research and collect the forgotten and rare folk songs of Ceredigion.
