Owen Adams is a freelance writer, journalist and community activist in the Forest of Dean, about to enter academia for the first time as a history student at the University of Gloucestershire. He works as an advocate for public ownership and greater public accountability in public forests. He considers understanding history as essential to understanding the current situation. Particular interests are public land rights, cultural and social history in Britain and hierarchy, authority and class issues. He has written lots of articles, and wants to write books.
