Alan Lloyd is a Trustee and Archivist for the International Brigades Memorial Trust (IBMT) which keeps alive the memory and spirit of the men and women from Britain, Ireland, and elsewhere who volunteered to defend democracy and fight fascism in Spain from 1936 – 1939. As well as researching the lives of hundreds of those who went to Spain from all parts of the UK, Alan has also published a book on the men and women who supported the fight against fascism in Spain from his home county of Hampshire.
A lifelong Trade Unionist and Socialist, Alan lives in Southampton and when not researching for the IBMT he is a keen gardener.
