Hazel Gower

Hazel Gower trained in fine art in Wales and has worked as an art teacher, an animator, a set designer and a researcher on many films for television. She has made several independent short films celebrating the work of little known European women artists. The first edition of her book Painted Out of History: The Story of Ellen and Rolinda Sharples sold out in a year. She is currently working on a history of Bristol’s School of Art, the first such institution in Britain to admit women.
