After leaving Bristol Kevin taught in schools, worked in factories, joined the SWP and was later expelled, re-joined the Labour Party at the end of the 70s and returned to university (Warwick) before working in trade union education in FE colleges for twenty years or so. More recently Kevin has worked in ‘widening participation’ into higher education, first at the University of Birmingham and then at the Higher Education Funding Council which brought him back to Bristol.
