Ros was a psychiatric social worker at Wormwood Scrubs Prison Hospital but after a year they dispensed with her services. She co-founded Radical Alternatives to Prison (RAP) with the late Sandra Roskowski and, after a few years, the Newham Alternatives Project which aimed to keep people out of prison.

She then trained in psychotherapay and now makes the message of her new book ‘Nothing More Important‘ the central theme in her work. It argues that every school student should be prepared throughout their school life to become a good parent, and describes in detail how to do that.
