I am a Higher Learning and Teaching Assistant, Art Technician and Senour Union Steward at Downend School, running for years a Danish inspired ‘Innovation Centre’. I have worked on many clubs and projects across all subjects with organisations including The Holocaust Memorial Trust, Historic England, the British Film Institute and the Trades Union Congress, as well as Downend Folk & Roots with local artists and singer-songwriters.

Until recently I was a National Film Ambassador for ‘Into Film’, and the education representative locally for the Arts Council.

The Downend Community History & Arts Project came out of a school project I was running that included working with the award winning folk group ‘The Young’uns’. This became a community group working with local schools and the wider community. We run history walks for schools, have created with an Illustrator an engaging local history map that has gone out to all houses in the Downend area and we now continue to research local history, write articles for the local press and continue to work in local schools and the community, where we try to tell far more of the’ whole story’.

Outside of work I am an artist and radical history collector, political activist and the ‘Fishponds Fox’ Wassail MC for the Fishponds Community Orchard.
