David Worrall is Emeritus Professor of English at Nottingham Trent University. He is the author of Radical Culture: Discourse, Resistance and Surveillance, 1790-1820 (1992, now reprinted in paperback by Breviary Stuff, 2019). He has written journal articles and book chapters on British radicalism as well as on social and political aspects of Georgian theatre, including Theatric Revolution: Drama, Censorship, and Romantic Period Subcultures, 1773-1832 (Oxford University Press, 2006) and ‘Freedom of Speech,’ in David Duff (ed.) Oxford Handbook to British Romanticism (Oxford University Press, 2018).
